Sand is a grinding paste
City sand and foothill clay ride in on boots and sit in grout lines. Mopping pushes it around. Rotary agitation lifts the slurry; extraction removes it. That is the entire difference between a floor that looks wiped and a floor that looks installed.
Where it is worth the visit
Mudrooms, primary baths that never dried, kitchen floors in older Lakewood and Wheat Ridge ranches, and commercial restrooms. If only one shower is stained, book one room. Sealant is optional and only useful after the grout is actually clean.
